ABI Research MVNOs, MMOs Partnering with Mobile Operators, Developing Services for M2M Market

Monday, Jan 05, 2009

The mobile virtual network operators and M2M mobile operators are teaming up with mobile operators to develop services catering to the M2M market, says a newly published report by ABI Research.

The machine-to-machine communications have specialized requirements. The report, entitled, “Machine-to-Machine Connectivity Services,” notes that over time this M2M market has seen a specialized class of network providers.

According to the report, these network providers, MVNOs and MMOs, have emerged to address the specialized requirements in ways traditional mobile operators have often declined to do directly except for large customers.

This latest ABI Research report says that the specialized network providers can aggregate demand from a multitude of smaller customers in a cost-effective manner.
