Antel inks telecoms services exclusivity contract with airport

Uruguayan state telco Antel has signed an agreement to bethe exclusive provider of telecommunications services to the Carrascointernational airport, which serves capital Montevideo,the company said in a statement.

The seven-year agreement includes the provision of mobile,data and local telephony. The company will be in charge of installing all thenecessary infrastructure and fiber optic rings for redundancy.

Antel will provide data services to third parties in theairport and will be in charge of installing two telecenters providing internetaccess, the sale of phone cards and cell phones, fax and other services.

WiFi will be available in the main terminal building; an interactive technology area, with internet access, will be provided for the public.
