Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009

The SPoC solution is rapidly deployable, independent of the service provider and offers all of the benefits of Push-to-Talk without comprising security

Elbit Systems Ltd. will unveil SPoC, the first ruggedized and secure Push-to-Talk (PTT) over cellular solution at the Milipol 2009 exhibition, set to take place in Paris (booth # 13J030) from November 17 to the 20, 2009.

Designed to provide military personnel, field agents and first responders with reliable and secure communications at all times, SPoC is rapidly deployable, independent of the service provider and utilizes existing infrastructure wherever possible. SPoC fully exploits PTT’s ability to broadcast messages and alerts to large groups. The SPoC solution comprises an encryption gateway and security management console used in conjunction with a ruggedized handset – the SnapTT.

Jointly developed by Elbit Systems and Sonim Technologies, the SnapTT is a ruggedized GSM phone that is IEC IP-54 certified, water-resistant and MIL-Spec approved, capable of withstanding the extreme conditions typical of rescue and tactical operations. The SnapTT includes a built-in GPS and is capable of withstanding shock-drops of up to three meters. Designed to withstand uni-directional water projections and exposure, the SnapTT has a temperature operating range from -20°C to +60°C.

The SnapTT is equipped with a high-performance voice security solution ensuring minimal voice latency. The device also includes data encryption and authentication technology to ensure a secure path for GPS coordinates and data files.
