Evoke IT completes Sharing Hub for International Group

Monday, Dec 17, 2012

Aberdeen SharePoint specialist, Evoke IT, has created a new intranet to facilitate global communications for The Ferguson Group.

Ferguson is a worldwide group of companies servicing the oil and gas industry. It has seven operating companies in four divisions located in nine offices across four continents. Since communication with its 160 employees can be challenging, the marketing team was looking for a method of sharing information easily and quickly between all the different parts of the group.

Evoke IT used Microsoft’s SharePoint software as the foundation for a bespoke social information hub where employees from any part of the world, at any time of day, can access the latest company news. The portal integrates with the company’s LinkedIn presence and reports on its corporate social responsibility strategy, including charity donations, to make it the one central page for team members to keep up to date with the company’s activities.

According to Lee Harrison, Director of Evoke IT, “SharePoint is an ideal platform for this type of project, because of its inbuilt file sharing capabilities and the ability to integrate it with other applications.  We have made the Ferguson Group’s intranet easy to use and consistent with the company’s corporate branding and corporate goals.”

Hayley Yule, Group Marketing Manager at Ferguson Group said, “We have been delighted by the way the new portal has been received by our staff across the world. It is now much easier to keep everyone informed about the developments in each division through one very simple to use page.”
