RADIOCOM chose TOPEX solutions for implementing a VOIP telephony system

Friday, Nov 27, 2009

TOPEX, the European telecom equipment manufacturer and NGN solution provider, announced that RADIOCOM, a major operator for radiocommunication services, deployed TOPEX solution to complete the implementation of an advanced VoIP telephony network.

Being in front of a fundamental change, which started few years ago when the first VoIP solutions were presented to the market, the IP is becoming the universal protocol used to provide most new telephony services.

In this way, TOPEX achieves the implementation of a VoIP based solution for Tier 1 Operator, RADIOCOM, opening a new market and growing new possibilities for its products. The NGN solution implemented by TOPEX gathers complete CLASS4 and CLASS5 Softswitch functionalities, Media Gateways and CPEs enabling smooth migration to a complete redundant and advanced VoIP telephony network.

The solution consists of redundant multiSwitch equipment covering the initial capacity of 20,000 up to 100,000 SIP users and 3,000 concurrent calls. TOPEX multiSwitch solution consists of several independent and redundant processing units. It provides geographical redundancy: backup systems can be found in locations other than the active systems on different IP links. The NGN system provides redundancy for all the Softswitch modules: CLASS4, CLASS5, RTP Proxy and SQL Database.

The interconnection with PSTN network, legacy TDM systems and mobile networks is achieved through TOPEX Eones Media Gateways with a total capacity of 100 E1 streams using SS7 signaling protocol.

At the customer premises, TOPEX provides and integrates in the NGN solution 3 types of CPEs: residential CPE – analogue FXS to VoIP terminals, analogue business CPE – analogue FXS/FXO to VoIP terminals and business residential CPE – 2E1 to VoIP terminals – TOPEX miniGateway equipment.

TOPEX solution allows also the integration of the SNR RADIOCOM telephony system through SIP and H.323 VoIP signaling protocols. The integration with SNR RADIOCOM billing system is made through RADIUS protocol.

TOPEX solution implemented at SNR RADIOCOM provides voice services transport / switching through the IP technology providing a high degree of customization, reliability and scalability.

“We are glad of the opportunity to deliver RADIOCOM, one of the main providers of networks and electronic communications services in Romania, our efficient solutions. We provided them all the functionality neededfor a VoIP telephony implementation and in this way we will help them to create new services”, declared Mr. Dan Adamescu, CEO TOPEX. This agreement is a proof that our NGN solution acknowledgement is constantly increasing and we are proud to be contributing to the development of the Romanian telecom market.”, added Mr. Adamescu.
