Sterlite Technologies wins EEPC and V&D100 Awards 2010

Sterlite Technologies Limited ("Sterlite"), a leading global provider of transmission solutions for the power and telecom industries, announced that it has recently won the EEPC Star Performer Silver Shield, in addition to the V&D 100 Award 2010 for the 'Top Telecom Cables Company in India'.

Sterlite Technologies was awarded the regional Star Performer Silver Shield in the large enterprises category, by EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council, India). Sterlite received this award in recognition of its outstanding contribution to power conductor exports during the year 2007-08. Sterlite has made substantial inroads in developing its global client footprint and market share for power conductors in Africa, Middle East and Europe.

Additionally, in its annual survey on the Indian telecommunications equipment industry, Voice & Data Magazine indicated that the Indian telecom cables market in FY 2009-10 was Rs 1,200 Crores (~US$ 225 million), of which Sterlite had a dominant market share of over 30%. Sterlite's contribution to the Indian telecommunications industry has been repeatedly recognized through this forum and Sterlite is the only company to have won this award for seven consecutive years from 2004-10.
